ANALISA KERUSAKAN PADA MESIN PRESS EXPELLER PADA STASIUN PENGOLAHAN DENGAN METODE FAULT TREE ANALYSIS (FTA) DI PERKEBUNAN NUSANTARA III (PERSERO) PKO SEI MANGKEI

Abstract


PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III Unit PKO Sei Mengkei is one of the companies that manages the processing of palm kernel oil into kernel oil with processes including kernel dismantling, palm kernel pressing and palm kernel oil refining, which has an expeller press machine and capacity 15 -17 tons/day with a 24 hour non-stop work system. The risk of a machine that works 24 hours is damage to the expeller press machine. The damage that occurred resulted in production experiencing problems with consumers not meeting the demand for palm kernel oil. Based on the existing problems, to deal with damage to the expeller press machine so that it does not result in more fatal damage, it is necessary to analyze the damage to components in the expeller press machine. Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) is used to test the dependability of a product and show cause and effect relationships between events. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the cause of damage to the broken mainshaft press machine components was due to the clutch installation/inappropriate location resulting in broken components, broken body cages and body assembly that did not comply with procedures. Actions to deal with damage to mainshaft components include replacing new spare parts/components that previously could not be rebuilt, body cage components rebuilding cracked bodies by welding on the cracked side, bearing components welding and grinding on the broken side.
