Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

The Public Administration and Governance Review (PAGR) welcomes original research articles, reviews, and case studies related to public administration, governance, and policy studies. Authors are requested to adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a smooth submission and publication process.


1. Manuscript Types

We accept the following types of submissions:

  • Research Articles: Original studies presenting significant findings.
  • Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews of specific topics.
  • Case Studies: Practical case studies providing new insights or applications.

2. Manuscript Format

2.1 General Structure

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

  1. Title Page

    • Title of the manuscript (clear and concise).
    • Full names of all authors and their affiliations.
    • Corresponding author's contact information (email and phone number).
  2. Abstract

    • A maximum of 200–250 words.
    • Briefly summarize the research purpose, methods, findings, and implications.
  3. Keywords

    • Provide 4–6 keywords that represent the core content of the manuscript.
  4. Introduction

    • Clearly define the research problem, objectives, and significance.
    • State the research question or hypothesis.
  5. Methodology

    • Describe the methods used, including research design, data collection, and analysis techniques.
    • Ensure sufficient detail for reproducibility.
  6. Results

    • Present findings clearly with appropriate use of tables, figures, and visuals.
    • Use descriptive headings for clarity.
  7. Discussion

    • Interpret the results, compare them with previous research, and highlight their significance.
    • Discuss limitations and implications for theory or practice.
  8. Conclusion

    • Summarize the key findings and propose recommendations or future research directions.
  9. References

    • Follow the APA 7th edition referencing style.
    • Ensure all in-text citations match the reference list.

2.2 Technical Specifications

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English.
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point size.
  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing.
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
  • Page Numbers: Include page numbers at the bottom center.
  • Word Count:
    • Research Articles: 4,000–7,000 words (excluding references and appendices).
    • Review Articles: 5,000–8,000 words.
    • Case Studies: 3,000–5,000 words.

3. Figures, Tables, and Illustrations

  • Number all tables and figures consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).
  • Include clear titles and sources (if applicable) for each table or figure.
  • Place tables and figures within the main text, close to their first reference.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication and this work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the works authorship and initial publication in this journal.

All articles in this journal may be disseminated by listing valid sources and the title of the article should not be omitted. The content of the article is liable to the author.

Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
