Abstract

Islamic economics is an economic system based on Islamic principles, encompassing financial, social ethics, and justice aspects. In Indonesia, which has the largest Muslim population in the world, Islamic economics has great potential for development. This potential is evident from the increasing public interest in Islamic financial services and government support. However, the journey of Islamic economic development is not easy, with challenges such as the lack of Islamic financial literacy and regulations that do not fully support it. This research employs the library research method to understand and review theories about Islamic economics in Indonesia. Data were obtained from various sources such as books, journals, articles, and previous studies. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis and descriptive methods. The results show that despite the challenges, the prospects for Islamic economics in Indonesia are quite bright with increasing public literacy and continuously developing regulatory support.
