Focus and Scope
Acta Aquatica: Aquatic Sciences Journal is a scientific open-access journal in the field of aquatic sciences, published periodically (April, August, and December) by the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) Universitas Malikussaleh (Malikussaleh University) in cooperation with Department of Aquaculture Universitas Malikussaleh. Acta Aquatica publishes original research, overviews and reviews relating to aquatic environments (wetlands, freshwater and marine waters) and the border limits of these environmental systems and the impacts of human activities on the environmental systems.
Acta Aquatica has a related study in aquatic biotechnology, aquatic renewable energy, aquatic bioecology, aquaculture, hydrology, biodiversity of aquatic biosphere, oceanology, exploitation and exploration technology of aquatic resources, fisheries product technology, aquatic microbiology, aquatic modelling, aquatic geographic information systems, and socio-economic of aquatic resources.

Peer Review Process
All Acta Aquatica journal manuscripts are peer-reviewed by at least one reviewers, and usually two reviewers, of the journal’s Editorial Review Board of experts in fields specifically matching the journal topics. Papers are reviewed, double-blind, in full publishable form; no journal manuscripts are accepted based only upon submission of an abstract. Reviewers are required to provide the author with comments intended to improve the content, style, and other issues which should improve the quality of the article.
Archiving
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
Article Processing and Submission Charges
Acta Aquatica: Aquatic Sciences Journal is scientific open access journal and freely available in internet. We guarantee that no university library or individual reader will ever have to buy a subscription or pay any pay-per-view fees to access articles in the electronic version of the journal. Acta Aquatica: Aquatic Sciences Journal DOES NOT CHARGE fees for any submission. Journal subscription is also open to any individual without any subscription charges.

Plagiarism and Retraction Policy
- Acta Aquatica: Aquatic Sciences Journal does not tolerate plagiarism because it establishes a retraction policy when plagiarism is identified in articles submitted for publication. Plagiarism was identified based on similarity with a similarity maximum tolerance of 25% which was examined using Turnitin checking software in detecting the similarity of text in articles.
- When plagiarism is identified, the Editor in Chief is responsible for reviewing this paper and will provide a policy for the plagiarism detected in the paper.
- The author who submitted the manuscript with similarities ranges 26% -30% that policy is a warning given to the author and request to change the text and properly cite the original article so that the similarity maximum of 25%. If the level of similarity is greater than 30% then the article will be rejected.
Publication Ethics
Acta Aquatica: Aquatic Sciences Journal is a journal that aims to be a leading peer-reviewed platform and an authoritative source of information. We publish original research papers, review articles, and case studies focusing on aquatic environments (wetlands, freshwater, and marine waters), the boundaries of these environmental systems, and the impacts of human activities on these systems. Acta Aquatica also covers related studies in aquatic biotechnology, aquatic renewable energy, aquatic bioecology, aquaculture, hydrology, biodiversity of the aquatic biosphere, oceanology, exploration and exploitation technology of aquatic resources, fisheries product technology, aquatic microbiology, aquatic modeling, aquatic geographic information systems, and the socio-economics of aquatic resources, along with related articles and topics that are not published elsewhere in any language. The following statements describe the ethical behavior expected of all parties involved in the publishing process of articles in this journal, including authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers. This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
