Abstract

The role of parents in providing sexual education to children is very important, because parents are the closest parties who have a great influence on child development. Therefore, sexual education provided early on serves as a preventive measure against various forms of sexual harms. This psychoeducation was conducted to increase students' understanding of early sexual education, introduce the importance of self-preservation and reproductive health, and provide education about the role of the family as the first environment to instill healthy sexual values and understanding. The method used was a lecture by starting with giving a pre-test and ending with giving a post-test. The results showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores, which means that the psychoeducation provided has an effect on increasing students' understanding of early sexual education.
