Abstract

Schools in the digital era demand learning that is not only effective, but also adaptive to technological developments. SMKN 2 Lhokseumawe as one of the vocational schools tries to answer this challenge through the implementation of the smart school concept with the help of artificial intelligence technology, especially Perplexity AI. This innovation utilizes AI as a learning companion that can help students access information, understand subject matter, and practice critical thinking skills more independently. This study aims to see how the utilization of Perplexity AI in learning activities can increase motivation, learning independence, and the effectiveness of the teaching-learning process in the school environment. Preliminary results show that the integration of AI in learning has received positive responses from students and teachers, and opens up great opportunities for learning that is more personalized, interactive, and relevant to future needs.
