Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of positive reinforcement strategies in the form of rewards in developing active learning behavior in students at SD Negeri 3 Banda Sakti. This study refers to B.F. Skinner's theory, which emphasizes the importance of reinforcement in the learning process. Data were collected through direct observation of classroom teaching and learning activities and documentation of student behavior that demonstrated responses to rewards. The results of the observations show that the reward giving strategy is able to increase students' attention, active participation, and learning motivation. Students who received rewards tended to show improvements in completing assignments and engaging in class discussions. These findings support Skinner's operant reinforcement theory, which states that providing positive consequences after certain behaviors can reinforce those behaviors in the future. This strategy also creates a more enjoyable and competitive learning climate in the classroom.
