Generative AI Policy
In alignment with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and global standard publishing guidelines (e.g., Elsevier), Negotium: Jurnal Ilmu Administrasi Bisnis has established the following policy regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation.
- Authorship: AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar large language models) do not meet the criteria for authorship. An AI cannot be held accountable for the work; therefore, AI tools must not be listed as an author or co-author on any submitted manuscript.
- Acceptable Use: Authors are permitted to use AI and AI-assisted tools solely to improve the language, readability, translation, and grammar of their manuscript. These tools must not be used to generate core research ideas, analyze data, create original figures/images, or draw scientific conclusions.
- Disclosure and Transparency: Authors must transparently disclose the use of generative AI technologies. A clear statement must be added at the end of the manuscript (before the References section) detailing which tool was used, and for what specific purpose. (Note: Basic tools for checking grammar or spelling, like Grammarly, do not require disclosure).
- Author Accountability: The human authors hold ultimate accountability and responsibility for the entire content of the manuscript, including any text edited or assisted by AI. Authors must carefully review and verify all AI-assisted content to ensure academic accuracy, integrity, and the absence of plagiarism or "hallucinations" (false information generated by AI).
