Abstract

Bullying of children is still a serious social problem in Indonesia, including in rural areas that are rarely touched
by structured character education programs in non-formal learning spaces. This service activity was conducted
by students and a team of lecturers at Universitas Malikussaleh in Gampong Dayah Baro, Syamtalira Bayu
District, North Aceh Regency, with the aim of increasing children's understanding of bullying and fostering
empathy for others. The activity was carried out through two stages, namely an interactive educational session
that explained the definition, types (physical, verbal, social, and cyber), and the impact of bullying, followed
by a role play simulation that trained children to reject bullying, defend friends who were victims, and report
incidents to trusted adults. This activity involved the children of Gampong Dayah Baro and was facilitated by
eleven students across disciplines. The results of the activity showed that children were able to recognize the
forms and impacts of bullying, show increased empathy for their peers, and become more courageous in
responding to and reporting incidents of bullying. This activity contributes to building awareness from an early
age and a culture of mutual respect in the environment of gampong children, and is expected to be sustainable
through similar programs run by schools, families, and local communities.
