The Role of Workload on Job Satisfaction with Work Ability as an Intervening Variable at UKM Cinema Universitas Jambi

Abstract


This study aims to examine the effect of workload on job satisfaction among members of the UKM Cinema at Universitas Jambi, considering the role of work ability as an intervening variable. Workload is a crucial factor that can influence individual performance and job satisfaction within an organization. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 116 respondents selected via the Slovin formula through a structured questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using Smart-Partial Least Square (SmartPLS) to assess the structural equation model, which includes both direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results indicate that workload has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and work ability. Furthermore, work ability serves as an intervening variable that enhances the indirect effect of workload on job satisfaction. These findings provide insights into the importance of effective workload management and skill development in improving job satisfaction within the organization.
