Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between self-awareness and
career planning among coastal adolescents in Lhokseumawe City. This research
employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The sample
consisted of 385 coastal adolescents selected using a snowball sampling technique.
Data analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between self-awareness
and career planning among coastal adolescents in Lhokseumawe City, with a
correlation coefficient of r = 0.828 and a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05).
These findings indicate that higher levels of self-awareness are associated with
better career planning among adolescents. This suggests that the ability of
adolescents to recognize their personal potential, understand their emotions, and
be aware of social expectations serves as an essential factor in the career planning
process.
