Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui deskripsi dukngan sosial terkait karir pada siswa SMK di Kota Medan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dengan analisis univariat. Data diperoleh melalui skala dukungan sosial yang disusun sendiri oleh peneliti berdasarkan aspek dukungan sosial dari Sarafino dan Smith. Subjek pada penelitian ini berjumlah 397 siswa SMk di Kota Medan dengan menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Hasil analisis data penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan terdapat dukungan sosial terkait karir yang tinggi pada siswa SMK di Kota Medan. Artinya, siswa SMK memdapatkan dukungan sosial yang baik dari lingkungan sekitarnya. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari semua aspek dukungan sosial yang memiliki katagorisasi tinggi yaitu aspek dukungan emosional, dukungan nyata atau instrumental, dukungan informasional dan dukungan persahabatan.
