About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The focus of interest includes but is not limited to:
GALENICAL : Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Mahasiswa Malikussaleh is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal that focuses on promoting medical sciences generated from basic sciences, clinical, and community or public health research to integrate research in all aspects of human health. This journal publishes original articles, reviews, and also interesting case reports. Brief communications containing short features of medicine, the latest developments in diagnostic procedures, treatment, or other health issues that are important for the development of the health care system are also acceptable. Correspondence articles of our own published articles are welcome. The scope of interest includes but is not limited to:

  1. Biomedical sciences: anatomy and physiology, cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics and molecular biology, immunology, mathematics and statistics, and bioinformatics.
  2. Clinical medicine: internal medicine, general surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics, psychiatry, radiology, pulmonary medicine, dermatology and venereology, infectious diseases, anesthesiology, cardiology, cancer research, endocrinology, urology, neurosurgery, geriatric medicine, gastroenterology, neurology, nephrology, ophthalmology, dentistry, immunology, infertility, haematology, medical genetics, laboratory medicine, medical statistics, clinical psychology, clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences and biotechnology.
  3. Global, international and public health: climate change, reduction of disparities, and protection against global threats, tropical medicine, travel medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, social sciences and management of health services, maternal and child health, environmental health, community health, behavioural health, health economics, public policy, mental health, health education, occupational safety, gender issues in health, and sexual and reproductive health.
  4. Health profession education/ Medical Education.
  5. Interdisciplinary research articles that are found appropriate by the editor.

Peer Review Process

The submitted manuscript is first reviewed by the editor. It will be evaluated whether it is in accordance with the focus and scope of the Galenical Jurnal. Manuscripts that are not in accordance will be rejected and the manuscript is accordance will be checked to identify plagiarism before being reviewed by reviewers. GALENICAL : Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Mahasiswa Malikussaleh uses a double-blind review, the manuscript will be sent to 2 anonymous reviewers. The reviewers' comments are also sent anonymously to the authors to take the necessary actions and responses. Revised manuscript decisions will be evaluated by the appropriate editor, based on reviewers' recommendations, that is, rejected, requires major revisions, requires minor revisions, or is accepted. The editor in Chief GALENICAL : Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Mahasiswa Malikussaleh has the right to decide which manuscript is submitted to the journal for publication. The review process may take approximately one month to be completed. For an accepted paper, should authors be requested by the editor to revise the text and minor changes, the revised version should be submitted within 5 days.
