Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Sosiologi Dialektika Sosial maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism in all its forms to uphold academic integrity and the originality of published research.

Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying or closely paraphrasing substantial parts of another’s published work without proper citation or acknowledgment.

  • Presenting someone else’s ideas, data, or results as one’s own without appropriate attribution.

  • Self-plagiarism, where authors reuse significant portions of their own previously published work without disclosure.

Detection and Prevention
All submitted manuscripts undergo screening with advanced plagiarism detection software before peer review. This process helps identify unreferenced copied text or duplicated content.

Action on Plagiarism Cases

  • If plagiarism is detected prior to publication, the manuscript will be immediately rejected.

  • If plagiarism is discovered post-publication, the journal will follow COPE guidelines, which may involve retraction of the article, publication of a correction or expression of concern, and notification to the authors’ institutions or funding bodies.

  • Serious cases may result in a ban on future submissions from the offending author(s).

Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors must ensure that their submissions are original and properly reference all sources and previous works. Any use of third-party material must be accompanied by permission or proper citation.

Editorial and Reviewer Duties
Editors and reviewers play a critical role in identifying potential plagiarism during the review process and must report any suspicions to the editorial office for further investigation.
