Plagiarism Policy
Aceh Anthropological Journal (AAJ) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. To ensure the authenticity of published research, AAJ employs Turnitin plagiarism detection software to screen all submitted manuscripts.
Key Points of Our Plagiarism Policy:
-
Originality: All submissions must be the authors’ original work and must not contain plagiarism in any form. This includes copying text, ideas, data, or graphics without proper citation.
-
Screening Process: Manuscripts are checked using Turnitin upon submission. Any manuscript with a similarity index exceeding the journal’s acceptable threshold (typically below 15%, excluding references and common phrases) will be subjected to further editorial scrutiny.
-
Consequences of Plagiarism: Manuscripts found to have significant plagiarism will be immediately rejected. In cases where plagiarism is detected post-publication, AAJ reserves the right to retract the article and notify relevant parties and institutions.
-
Author Responsibility: Authors must ensure that all sources are properly cited and quoted. Self-plagiarism, including duplicate publication of the same data or text, is also prohibited.
-
Ethical Compliance: AAJ follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding plagiarism and ethical misconduct. Authors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these standards to avoid ethical breaches.
By enforcing this policy, AAJ aims to promote academic honesty and maintain the credibility of its published research.
